The fastest sensible line is A1 west from Zurich to Bern, A6 south past Thun to Spiez, then the Kandertal valley road to Kandersteg, the BLS Lötschberg car-carrying train through the tunnel to Goppenstein, down to the Rhône valley at Gampel/Visp, then the Mattertal road via St. Niklaus to Täsch.
